Acura is known for its advanced engineering, so when they designed the 2019 Acura MDX they wanted to offer you a choice between three different powertrains. The most efficient conventional gas-powered of the three options utilizes a 3.5-liter direct injection V6 engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission with a front-wheel drivetrain. This engine produces 290-hp and 267 lb.-ft. of torque and has a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. The estimated EPA-ratings are 27 mpg highway and 20 mpg city**.

The 3.5-liter direct injection V6 engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission mated to Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) uses active torque vectoring to direct power to the rear wheels as needed to provide excellent handling in different weather conditions. Generated is 290-hp and 267 lb.-ft. of torque with the capability to tow up to 5,000 pounds. The estimated fuel economy is 26 highway and 19 city**.

The Sport Hybrid powertrain uses NSX-derived technology to achieve increased power, improved fuel efficiency and enhanced handling. The 3.0-liter port injected V6 engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters and SH-AWD®. This engine pumps out 257-hp and 218 lb.-ft. of torque or 321 total system horsepower, and achieves an estimated 27 mpg highway and 26 mpg city**.


The 2019 Acura MDX earned a 5-Star Overall Safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration***.
