Sneak Peek: 2018 Acura NSX
To qualify as a supercar, a vehicle must perform at a high level and have one-of-a-kind styling and a luxury badge. The 2018 Acura NSX doesn’t just meet these standards, it exceeds them.
Below, we’ll give you a sneak peek of Acura’s new supercar before it hits our showroom floors. When you decide you’re ready to upgrade, get in touch with one of our reps in Middletown to ask questions and reserve your model.
Performance and Hybrid Technology
One factor differentiating the NSX from other supercars is its hybrid powertrain. Under the hood, it has a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine combined with three electric motors, including a Direct Drive Motor for optimal throttle response and a Twin Motor Unit for instant torque and next-level acceleration. Plus, it’s the first supercar to feature custom-made Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, giving you precise performance no matter where you are.
The hybrid powertrain makes a net 573 horsepower and 476 lb-ft of torque. It’ll get you from zero to 60 in 3.1 seconds and from zero to 100 in just 7 seconds, with a top speed of over 190 MPH. According to tests from Car and Driver, the NSX also has the best braking capability, stopping in just 142 feet from 70 MPH, beating out the Porsche 911 Carrera, McLaren 570S, Audi R8, and BMW i8.
Interior Specs and Features
The Acura NSX offers a relatively spacious interior and comes available with features to make your ride comfortable and convenient enough to drive every day. It features 38.3 inches of head room and 42.8 inches of leg room, so it’s suitable for 6-foot-plus drivers. Like most supercars, you won’t see an overabundance of standard power-adjustable features because they add weight that can hurt performance specs.
That said, the NSX does come standard with a tilting and telescoping steering column, and comes available with driver’s seat memory, a power driver and passenger’s seat, and heated front seats. It also offers lumbar support on the driver’s side and two-zone automatic climate control. Despite its head-turning power, the NSX has a quiet cabin even at 70 MPH, emitting 74 dBA and beating three out of four competitors.
Entertainment and Connectivity
The NSX doesn’t need any infotainment to be deemed fun, but Acura iced the cake with standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth wireless tech, voice command, and auxiliary and USB input. Plus, it has a 7-inch touchscreen in the center stack for easy control of audio and the integrated navigation system (optional). The Acura supercar also comes with the option for real-time traffic and weather updates.
It’s hard to put into words just how the NSX feels behind the wheel, so if you’re curious, give us a call today.
